This certified three-day course presents a physical therapy-based approach to working with clients who have injuries, physical limitations, or movement dysfunctions. Focusing primarily on the cervical and lumbar spine, shoulder, hip, knee, ankle, and foot, the course covers functional anatomy, biomechanics, and a review of current literature.
Specific injuries and pathologies such as disc disease, post-surgical conditions, rotator cuff syndrome, tendinopathies, and osteoarthritis are examined. Students will gain knowledge of the precautions and/or contraindications for these conditions, as well as exercise options and modifications to the original BASI Pilates repertoire.
Participants will learn safe and effective methods for working with clients suffering from some of the most common pathologies and injuries, through lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and practical sessions.
This program is approved by the PMA for 18 CECs.
Debora Taddei – BASI Faculty
In 2004, she graduated in Physiotherapy from the Universidad Europea de Madrid (UEM), integrating deep and effective therapeutic knowledge into Pilates. Before discovering this discipline, Debora was a professional Spanish dance and flamenco dancer, graduating from the Conservatory of Granada (1991–2000). It was during her dance studies that she discovered Pilates—a method that would transform her personal and professional life.
Together with her colleague and friend Guadalupe Ruiz-Gimenez, she co-founded DARTE Pilates Marbella, the official BASI Pilates host studio in Spain. Debora has been teaching for years the advanced course by Samantha Wood, “Pilates for Injuries & Pathologies.”
