The course is presented in English with Italian translation; the manuals are translated into Italian.

During pregnancy, many physiological and hormonal changes occur, bringing forward the question: “How safe is exercise during pregnancy?”

The 3-day certified course Pilates During and After Pregnancy will provide you with an in-depth understanding of the process an expectant mother goes through and the physical changes during pregnancy. It will guide you naturally toward the most appropriate ways to approach exercise throughout the 3 trimesters; situations to avoid or that require particular caution, recommendations for safe training, as well as the most useful modifications and props. Work protocols in relation to the hormonal effects of pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding, as well as post-pregnancy considerations, will be described. Rectus diastasis will also be discussed in detail, including what it is and how to address it.

The BASI approach to Pilates is unique in its application of the BASI® Block System, flow, and depth of study. During the practical portion of this course, these principles and this approach are followed to work on mind and body as a whole during this very special time in a woman’s life.
